Tim & Devon (STL engagement)

“Hey can you put on your sunglasses, I have a weird thing with reflections.”   I’m so glad that my clients understand that I am somewhat of a weirdo before we do our engagement session. I apologize for the weeping willow like tree that kept smacking you both with it’s branches..it made for some fun candids though. :)  This past Saturday Tim & Devon accompanyed me through Soulard/Lafayette for their engagement session. I always scout out locations, but most of the time my plan gets switched up (mostly because I think of something new last minute that would work better). I’m glad that they both reassured me that they trusted me completely. So much so that they stood in the middle of Park Avenue while an H2 bolted down the pavement. I really never watch where I am walking, knealing, laying, hanging,or squatting. I’ve yet to die during a shoot do I figure I am doing something right…but enough about me & my clumsy behavior…Enjoy the sneak peak & stay tuned for Devon & Tim’s wedding post. They will be getting married at the Chandler Hill Vineyard on October 28th, 2011 & I am beyond excited!

Photo time!

I still can’t believe how well Devon walked on cobblestone/brick pavements. I think I almost fell twice & I was rocking flats.  That’s how I roll ladies & gents. Flipflops=<3

Nick & Robin-March 5th(IL)

A location’s north-south position along a meridian is given by its latitude, which is the angle between the local vertical and the…blah blah blah “Are you going to teepee this weekend…did you see Nick K today…he looked so hot.”  That’s pretty much most of what I remember from my 7th grade geography class where Robin and I met.

^I didn’t know that this photo would come in handy 11 years later. :)

                                Me^                                                                                  Rob^

Gosh that’s a great pose…who wants me to re create this for their wedding album…..

Many school dances, pizza nights, double dates, church camps,ex boyfriends, new jobs, teenage fights and just a lot of growing up later brought us to March 5th, 2011; Robins wedding day.

Robin chose to get married in the church that we grew up in. I always try to show up a little early to the ceremony sites so that I can familiarize myself with the area. I knew this church. I knew the layout…yet the red chusioned long wooden pews no longer filled the rows.  The tattered hymnals were no where to be found. Our pastors office was now the nursery and the youth group room was now in the nurseries place. Not everything changed though. The sunlight beamed through the same blue and purple stained glass windows.  As I closed my eyes in the almost empty sanctuary I swore I could hear our old youth group singing “I could sing of your love forever”. Ok so maybe that was just in my head, but it was a nice thought. ;)

Anyway I am very honored that even after all of these years robin still wanted me to be a part of her wedding day. I was able to document one of my very best teenage friends weddings and that my readers is a great feeling. I’m glad that Nick allowed me to shoot it as well. Heh :)

2010 Wedding Season….

The 2010 wedding season has been over for me for quite some time. I thought it would be fun to have a 2010 behind the scenes blog entry. Pretty much just a bunch of random photos…..  Enjoy :)

Also a Thanks to Juli from Custom Edge Photography for assisting me at Becca & Rays wedding. :)

…fellow photogs photobooth…Ryan Gladstones work is insanely beautiful btw…

I know that I have had dozens of photos taken of me while shooting…If only I had the time to track all of them down to post!  2011 I will make sure that people capture me during my best moments…

Raymond & Rebecca

Kicielinski…Kicielinski…..Kicielinski….that has to be my favorite couples last name…  I met Ray’s little brother Ricky in the 4th grade. We were in latchkey together. If someone would of said to me at age 9 ” Hey lea you’re going to be photographing Ricky’s brother Raymond’s wedding when you grow up”  I wouldn’t of believed it. I did have a sweet Tasmanian devil camera; however I was going to be a zoologist!  Fast forward a thousand years…I met Becca in choir class. If only our choir class was as cool as Gleeek club..oh Glee…We all loved our choir director Mrs Neal…however If Mr Schuester was my director, I never would of missed one day of highschool. (Mmmmmm Will…)My mother wouldn’t of had to yell “you’re going to miss the bus” and I wouldn’t of had to yell back,”I’m sick……”  Mr Schuester is what I needed in HS. We would have had our moment.  Bust into a love ballad during class….

“Mr. Schuester
My love,
There’s only you in my life
the only thing that’s right

Rachel Lea
My first love
You’re every breath that I take
you’re every step I make……..

Both
My endless love <3″

Daydream over….Ah Becca & Ray! They are such a cute couple. They seriously love each other with a great unconditional love. Even my second shooter(holla @ julipenny) who had never met them before that day, could feel it. The love that both families share for their children & one another = amazing. I did my best to capture that. :)
