Its a Bird, Its a Plane, Its Superman!

Last weekend I had the opportunity to second shoot a wedding with Ms Katy Corea of (k.corea photography) in Paducah Kentucky. It just so happens that Paducah is super close to Metropolios IL..which if you don’t know is home to Superman. It also just so happens that our destination wedding weekend was the same as the 2011 Superman festival! We pulled up expecting to just see the superman sculpture, instead we found a crowd of people as well as dozens of comic book characters. Those who know me know that I am a little bit of a geek so this excited me a little more than it should of. The only thing that would of made it better was, if the Superman from the documentary “Confessions of a Superhero” would of been walking around….. If I would of gotten the memo earlier, I would of been Poison Ivyfor the day….C’est la vie…..

We also found an amazing building that didn’t have a “no trespassing” sign…..so what do two photogs do it that situation? Photo time…

A nice old man at an antique shop let us know that the factory used to make hangers…they built another one and that one was just left there…He also let us know that the new one is no longer being used either. :(   Such a shame, but it makes for fun photos. I surely hope that the photographers there use that building for shoots.

I leave you with a couple more photos from that weekend…

me^ = uncomfortable cake eating photo….

^ and did I mention that the bridal party jumped into the country club’s pool…..epic win.

Thank ya Katy for taking me along for the ride :)

“I love your style of photography!!  I would very much like to set an appointment with you to discuss your wedding photo packages.  My wedding date is Saturday, May 21, 2011 in Illinois.  Ceremony is in Freeburg, IL with the reception in O’Fallon, IL.Please let me know when my fiance and I can come visit. My best friend Lindsay Bruno referred you. Thanks so much! Jodi”

That was the 1st time Jodi contacted me about wedding photography. Lindsay was one of my beautiful brides last year. Lindsayand Dan were such a cool couple to work with. They gushed over their album at jodi’s wedding. I was super happy that they are in love with it. I cannot express how excited it makes me when friends, bridesmaids, groomsmen, sisters and bro’s decide to use the same photographer. I love being able to build real lasting relationships within families. When you guys all have babies remember I’m not only a wedding photographer. I’ve stuck quite a few babies in suitcases & baskets……for photo use only of course. :)   Send the rest of your family members/friends my way! I’ll bust out a rad photoboothwith new props! I had such an amazing time at your wedding Shane & Jodi. Thank you so much for letting me be part of it. I hope that I captured a fraction of the amount of love you two have for one another.

Sneak peak time…

A special thank you to Juli my 2nd shooter who worked with me. <3

I hope you enjoyed the preview. :)

Andrew & Kim(STL engagement)

Kim and Andrew  invited me into their home and offered me coffee from their awesome keurig the 1st time we met. I don’t drink coffee; still I am blown away by keurigs. I can only hide my geekiness for so long people… We went over the contract and pricing guide like every other meeting. I started asking them questions like” are you going to have a bouquet toss”,dances?….will you be cutting the cake. Andrew made a joke about how it would be dangerous for either of them to be cutting the cake, but assured me that their would be cake. Their witticism and genuine personalities won me over. That’s when I knew that I wanted to shoot this wedding! I’m honored that they chose me as their wedding photographer.  SLU’s campus was the engagement session location. Andrew just graduated from SLU’s law school! Wooooo & Congrats!

I will be covering their event on October 1st :) Stay tuned….
