When I sit down to start a new blog post I turn on my Pandora music player. Joshua Radin likes to serenade me with his musical talents.( if you would like to read this post while listening to amazing music click the link.) When I start typing out my introduction sentence I tend to delete it about a dozen times until I am satisfied. I’m not a fantastic writer. I’m mediocre at best. I use “I” far too often. My run on sentences don’t just run on….they run on and on and on. I rarely use correct punctuation.,:; I have never received anything higher than a B in English; however I have had A’s in every art class I’ve ever taken. Hey I’ll take it. Even in the photography class where everyone hated the teacher; complained that she was just a bitter old shrew that had no idea what real art was…. Apparently she did because I got an A. ; )
Even though my grammar is flawed I still have managed to have a following. Lauren has been following me for quite some time. She was able to look past my flawed grammar and now her friends are stalking the blog. Not my blog… but “THE BLOG”. That makes me smile. I have put so much time and $ into my blog. It’s nice to know that people enjoy reading my ramblings/ looking at my photos. I love how one person tells another person…then that person tells a friend…and then one day I will have thousands of readers….Ok maybe not..but let me dream…”Dream On Dream On Dream On …..Dream until the dream come true!!! Oh Aerosmith they don’t make music like they used to…and Don Mclean the day the music really died was when Ke$ha showed up on the charts. ” Im talking – pedicure on our toes, toes Trying on all our clothes, clothes Boys blowing up our phones, phones”. What kind of name is Ke$ha anyway – DJ NICE
Anyway tangent off.

Let’s do this….

Thank You Katy Corea for shooting with me and capturing imagines like this one ^ : )

Every couple of months I spend a few hours just looking through wedding magazines at Borders. I sit on the floor in the biography section. I surround myself with very sporadic piles of magazines. From The Knot to Martha Stewart weddings and everything in between. I picked up a small pile of STL area mags and started flipping through the pages. I’ve gotten pretty good at guessing which Saint Louis Wedding Photog shot all of the real weddings in the STL/Kansas City Knot. You know that’s a useful skill to have. hah. Anywho…
As I was going though the venue section I decided that I wanted to blog about venues. My 1st instinct was to complain about all of the venues that would rather me pass out than eat dinner with the guests. Then my second thought was to write about shining stars that have treated me very kindly. However I came to the conclusion that my readers don’t really care about who hurt my feelings or saved me a piece of cake. ; ) Therefore this blog is not going to be about either of those. If your looking for a venue that could be a hidden gem this is the blog you want to read. We all know about Windows off Washington, Botanical Gardens,The Butterfly House,Ball Park Hilton,Union Station…I could go on and on but I won’t. They are lovely spaces..however I’d like 2011 to be filled with venues that I have never been to. I would love more farm/backyard/rooftop weddings. Here is my small list of neat venues that I would love to shoot your wedding at!
“Everyone that knows Dan knows that he’s not a man of many words.”
“Just because I’m not saying anything it doesn’t mean that I’m not interested in what you’re saying. I just don’t feel the need to say that much”.
Those are the words that Dan’s best man Rob spoke when he made his toast. He went on to say that Lindsay said that to Dan one time while driving together. That’s what confirmed it for him. She was everything that he was looking for. That small story stuck out to me. Maybe because I feel the exact same way often. Sometimes people think that I am not interested. It’s quite the opposite. I am listening carefully. And know that: if this blog post isn’t very long it doesn’t mean I am not interested..I just don’t feel the need to say that much….
I’d rather my photographs tell a story without me having to speak.

I received a text message back in August. The text was from my friend Sarah’s phone, but her fiance Ring did the texting. He asked me if I was free to shoot their wedding. I was. : )
A little back story…Sarah and I used to go to the same church. I actually have known Ring(nickname) longer. He used to sit in front on me on the school bus in high school. Before we were old enough to get our licenses. My boyfriend at the time(husband now) used to wake up just to take me to school so I didn’t have to ride the bus most days. Ring was one of the few nice guys in a sea of jerks that rode our bus. He wasn’t one of the guys that I tried to avoid. Fast forward a few years..they met..then fell in love. Oh to be young and in love…
Sarah & Ring planned their St Charles, Mo wedding while living in Charleston. They chose The Conservatory for their ceremony. Side note- What a great venue. The owner is such a nice man. I love nice vendors. If your planning on having an intimate wedding(up to 100 guests) you need to check out this location. It’s right on Main Street. The owner has no idea who I am either- so I don’t make any money on this deal. ; ) I just think it’s a great place. Their wedding colors were blue & purple. “Like a bruse” Sarah infomed me. I love that color combo. It’s one of my favorites ever!

December 29th -Wedding Day
Photo time…

Sarah’s mama made her dress!

Bride wearing chucks for the win!

I’m awful at explaining how to dip brides… it makes for emotion filled images^

They were troopers…It was freezing outside!

This is one reason why you should consider a cathedral length veil ; )

I tried to take a photo of myself with Sarah. My camera weighs a lot & I have short arms…

Sar & Ring- Caleb and I had a great time at your wedding. I do also have to add that your playlist was one of the best i’ve ever heard!
