I went to high school with Becca way back in the day… OK so I can’t even rent a rental car yet… I’m not that old. I sometimes still get carded for R-rated movies. Apparently I look like a high-school student. It might have something to do with the large hairbows, headbands and bright colors I wear. I secretly wish that I could crawl into my tv and be on Glee. Ok so not so secretly. Will Schuester you are so dreamy…where was I? : )
I love it when old friends ask me to shoot their wedding. They also all assure me it’s because they love my work and it’s not just because we are friends. We decided to head down to the riverfront for their session. It’s one of my favorite spots. I’m so glad that they chose it. We tore up the riverfront!
Photo time…

The roof of the bike happened to be filled with rain water. We crossed our fingers that the roof wouldn’t cave in.
I did however assure them that if it did, I would still be taking photos…You can’t miss something like that! Everyone managed to stay dry. ; )

They brought me a big black umbrella to use. Two points for bringing a prop!
This photo makes me smile : ) They are too cute.^

Some of my favorite photos are when I just ask my couples to wrap their arms around each other. I say “do what feels natural”. I normally get a laugh. I sit on the ground and wait. I sometimes pretend that I’m changing my settings and then…click…click..click.

I think they might of thought I was a little odd when I asked them to stand over a muddy puddle for a photo….There is almost always a method to my madness.
Becca & Ray you two are adorable. I look forward to capturing your wedding day!
PS:This was my last session that I will ever use my Pentax K20D camera. I am now a canon carrying photog. 5dmarkII. Oh snap. I’m offically ready for wedding season! If your getting married this fall(or winter) and still don’t have your wedding photographer… email me. I am not yet fully booked for fall or winter.
This past Sunday I met Lauren & Devin in the Central West End for their engagement session. We were hoping for a nice covering of snow. Instead it was 40 degrees and sunny. We adjusted quickly : ) If we can’t have snow, we’ll take the 40 degree “heat wave”. I love Central West End. It’s just a fun area & very cute for engagement sessions. Well any session really. Even wedding photos…. I have yet to have a couple choose Central West End for their formals. If your a couple that would enjoy doing your romantics there… email me…Let’s talk…
Let’s get to it…Photo Time

They both have such great smiles. I couldn’t of not smiled back if my life depended on it. I’m always smiling behind my camera. Unless I’m “in the zone”. You can tell by my facial expressions when I am thinking.

I’m always a fan of this perspective. “Seeing you through his eyes” I like to call it…What a cheesy title Lea. I know I know. I love it. I do have to get pretty close to my couples heads though. I get in peoples bubbles a little bit. Just a tad. Just enough that it’s not too uncomfortable. : )

I’ve been wanting to use a newspaper stand for months. I like her expression..”what are you doing up there”? I get these ideas…I appreciate their openness : )

It might of been 40 degrees… however I was able to include a snowman in their photos^ I make things happen. ; )

I will be shooting their wedding in August. I’m so excited. Stoked even! The 2010 wedding season is right around the corner…If you still haven’t booked your photographer, shoot me a message.Especially fall weddings…I have a thing with fall weddings…
A couple months ago one of my good friends Abby made an announcement, she was getting married! Abby and I went to high school together. Sang alto together in choir. We sat next to each other during a 16 hour bus ride to New York City. Longest car trip of my life. Abby was my seat buddy which helped me survive it. Being on a bus full of sleep deprived 16 & 17 year old girls was interesting to say the least. Good memories. It’s been a while since highschool and I don’t get to visit with her as often as I’d like. I was honored that she asked me to shoot her engagements photos. I had the pleasure of meeting the love of her life back in August. When your friends with someone you always get an idea of what type of guy they should marry. You want the best for them. After spending the afternoon with both of them together,I know that they have something special. I’m excited for them! They are blessed to have found one another.

^Abby did great. You can’t even tell that she was fearing for her life. : ) He was getting major air.

Subway:Eat Fresh

Central West End was the location that I shot all of these images. A question I get asked often is “Where do you suggest we take our photos”. It’s a question I love to hear. It means that they are open to ideas. Like a library…..

We came across a library and had to go in for a few photos. We did have a few spectators. I chose not to use flash because of this. I didn’t have to be removed from the library by security, which was good.

Abby had mentioned that she “didn’t know that our shoot was going to be so exciting”. The idea of possibly getting caught in a library taking photos was defiantly a fun time. The worst that of could of happened was they could of asked us to leave. Library security could of been intense though…
If they are having fun is how I determine if I am doing my job. That’s my goal for every shoot(well besides getting good images) I like being able to think outside of the normal engagement photo box. That being said, I’m looking for a couple to allow me to take engagements at Walmart or a Laundry Mat. So if that sounds fun, contact me.
Also, Don’t forget about my contest! You could win that free Walmart photo shoot. Or somewhere else if that doesn’t sound appealing. You don’t have to use the package yourself. If you know of anyone who would love to be given a photography package, enter for them! Kids, couples, boudoir, facebook photos…You know you text. Text now to win! Right now. Do it right now!
